Four alleged “tourists” of Asian descent were captured committing acts of espionage at one of Greece’s Air Force and Industry facilities north of Athens.
Greek aerospace industry (Ελληνική Αεροπορική Βιομηχανία – EAB) security guards initially spotted the suspects, and ordered them to move away. The suspects were later arrested after they had hidden under a bridge and continued to take many more photos of Greece’s Rafale fighter jets. The suspects were taken to Tanagra Police Station where they are being questioned, but officials refuse to give any further details.
This is not the first case of espionage in Greece. The Greek authorities arrested a man from Azerbaijan last month for photographing military facilities at Souda Bay.
