40,000 abortions take place in Greece every year.
“40,000 hearts will never beat, and 40,000 voices will never be heard. And all of this was not by accident. Not by necessity. But within a system that promotes decay, nihilism, and the ‘freedom’ of destruction.” says a report by Makeleio. The most shocking part about this story is that these abortions are coming from our youth. According to the Institute of Mental and Sexual Health, all these abortions are occurring on girls under the age of 18! 1 in 4 girls aged 14 to 17 have had an abortion, according to a study by Aretaieio Hospital. And half of them did not even tell their parents.
Greece is already experiencing a population decline crisis, as well as a demographic crisis within the country. Instead of encouraging motherhood and creating an environment that supports the birth and upbringing of children, we watch the new generation being led to terminate pregnancies, often without adequate information and support. Because of the glorifying of abortions, and the lack of sexual education, Greek women are helping cause the decline of the Greek population and even the destruction of women’s mental health. 44% of women who have had an abortion experience nervous disorders, while 25% require psychiatric monitoring. The physical and mental health of our girls is constantly under threat, while the State fails to establish a comprehensive sexual education system.
