Latinoopoulou about the term ‘Roma’: “I call them gypsies, you can call them whatever you want”

Why must we cancel words? Words don’t kill, and yet here we are criticizing others for using words. They are Gypsies!
The other day, the leader of the ‘voice of reason’ party, Afrodite Latinoopoulou, made a statement about crime and referring to Roma people with the racial slur “gypsies”. In her statement, she said, “We are fighting to get away from the criminality of gypsies, whom Mrs Konstantopoulou has defended many times in court. So, therefore, what we are fighting for is what she stands for. So you understand how dangerous this is.”. After being questioned by the reporter, who was shocked by the use of the word, Latinoopoulou said, ”I call them gypsies, you can of course call them whatever you want”.
