Greece upgrades airbases for F-35s

The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) is progressing with plans to transform Andravida Air Base in the northwest Peloponnese into the country’s most advanced military facility, designed to host Greece’s new coming F-35 fighter jets.
The base has been running since the 1950s, and the USA is ensuring Greece meets requirements mostly in security, in order to keep the aircraft safe when they are landed on the air field. The HAF aims to begin major construction in 2026, with the project budget capped at €300 million.
