New Democracy forced to pay 40,000 euros over ‘email-gate’ scandal

A 40,000-euro fine was imposed on Greece ND (New Democracy) party by the Personal Data Protection Authority of Greece (PDPA) on Tuesday. This is because ND did not take proper measures to protect Greeks’ personal data living outside of Greece. Also two ND officials are accused of sending over 25,000 Greeks’ information to former ND MEP Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou.
The PDPA are in deep investigation of this criminal activity, and fines are still being given out to more government members.
