The government of Canada is expected to increase the minimum wage for foreign workers in efforts to stop companies from hiring foreign workers and turning back towards hiring Canadians.
An interesting plan by the government, with a raise of about 20% above each provincial median hourly wage. The change is scheduled to take place in November, and already critics are voicing their concerns. Critis state this is a mistreatment of foreign workers and will result in a cap for immigrants into Canada, which goes against the Liberals beliefs of open and inclusive borders.
