The Canadian taxpayers are funding the lives of Illegals in Canada

It dates back to 2011, when Fraser Institute published a study on how much taxpayers have to bear when Canada accepts new immigrants or illegals.
On average, the government at that time gave immigrants around $6,000 a year. Taking a broader view of this, the amount of immigration in Canada between 1987 and 2004, came to cost $16.3 billion in taxpayer funding. This number only shows to continue its growth, as of 2010 showing to be reaching as high as $25 billion.
The Canadian people have been footing the bill for such a long time, not just with just allowing immigrants into the country but with the large amount of immigrants we let in every year and the crazy things the government continues to give them that are simply unnecessary. Governments, especially left-leaning governments, have long given free stuff to newcomers while Canadians who have lived here for years suffer. And it does not seem to be ending. Reports show that in 2024, taxpayers pay around $224 per day for illegal border crossers coming into Canada. This covers food and a place to stay. This was not let unchecked by CPC MP Lianne Rood who said in a tweet: “The NDP-Liberal government is giving ten times the benefits to illegal border jumpers than it is giving to help Canadian seniors! Disgraceful!”.
It gets even worse when previous knowledge has shown that in 2023, Canada funded accommodation for asylum seekers costing around $557 million per year. The Liberals and all other Leftists in power care more about those not even citizens in this country than those who were born here. Such policies can lead to increased social tension and resentment among long-term residents who feel that their needs are being overlooked.
