The newly created Build Canada Homes agency will oversee plans to build 4,000 homes on six federally owned sites, as part of a $13 billion agency budget put in place by Carney.
Carney says that this will “help lower costs for builders and most importantly, lower the rents and new home prices for Canadian families.”. But let’s take a look at this. $13 billion for only 4,000 homes. The math on this shows that each house costs $3.2 million. Welcome to corruption at its finest! How the hell does it cost over $3 million to build one home? In what world does it cost so much?
“Build Canada Homes will prioritize the use of cost-efficient and modern methods of construction, including factory-built, modular and mass timber,” Carney said. Then why only 4,000 homes? Where is all this ‘cost-efficient’ money being spent? Are we building mansions for the rich? Where is all this money really going? Not only is this over spending to the max, but some even say that the government can’t even achieve this. According to Fraser Institute, “the federal government lacks even basic data on its own real estate portfolio, routinely misses internal targets for consolidation, and continues to rely on a lengthy process that takes six to eight years to offload surplus buildings.” Carney is killing Canadian real estate and raising the debt along with destroying the housing crisis to an even higher level.
