CPC fails to bring down Carney’s 2035 gas-vehicle ban as Liberals win the vote

According to reports, Conservative MPs failed in a 194-141 vote Tuesday evening to overturn a 2023 federal mandate that would ban new gasoline car sales by 2035.
“There is nothing wrong with that (driving EV cars). What is wrong is the government mandating that everybody drives an electric car.” said CPC MP Melissa Lantsman. The Liberals’ “Electric Vehicle Availability Standard” requires 20% of all new vehicle sales to be electric by 2026, and a ban on the sale of gas vehicles by 2035. Remember when everyone said this was just a conspiracy theory? Here it is, out in the open, the mandate is still going through despite the outrage from Canadians. In a 2024 poll, 54% of Canadians opposed the mandate, but the Liberals just don’t care what Canadians have to say.
It’s the Liberal way or no way! All this government control over the fear mongering about the idiotic claim of “climate change”. And yet, EV vehicles create so much more problems for the earth compared to gas vehicles. The production of electric vehicle batteries requires significant mining of lithium, cobalt, and nickel, which can lead to environmental degradation and pollution. Additionally, the disposal of EV batteries poses a challenge, as they contain hazardous materials that need to be carefully managed to prevent soil and water contamination. Furthermore, the increased demand for electricity to charge EVs may strain power grids, especially if the energy is not sourced from renewable resources. Not only is it environmentally damaging, but financially as well. EV cars are much more expensive, and the majority of Canadians just don’t want to buy them. In fact, Canada’s auto manufacturers have even taken a stand and have asked the government to repeal this mandate.
