AEK defeated PAOK with an amazing 2-1 score, in PAOK’s own stadium in Thessaloniki. Fans celebrated as they chanted, “we are Original 21 even in Macedonia”. AEK owner, Marios Iliopoulos, celebrated this amazing victory by reportedly giving his players a bonus.
The MVP of the match was most definitely Erik Lamela, who scored both goals for AEK. The game was very intense, with both teams sharing equal ball possession 50/50, with AEK having an advantage over shots on net.
Meanwhile back in Athens, PAO hosted OFI Crete in this week’s match. PAO just barely managed to win the game, by scoring 3 last minute goals when all hope seemed lost. The entire first half was dominated by OFI, where both goals were scored. It wasn’t until the second half, where PAO got their act together, and scored 3 goals, winning the game on a 3-2 scoreboard.
The leaderboard after this week’s games remains barely changed. AEK is in 2nd place under Olympiakos, and PAOK remains left behind in 4th with multiple games needed to win in order to rise up the ranks. Meanwhile ARIS still lacks, as Tripoli remains above the team in 5th.
