According to Canadians: GST tax break will not help their finances

In December, Trudeau announced a GST tax break (removal of the 5% tax on items in stores) for Canadians during the holidays, that would last two months. According to a Nanos study posted by CTV News, Canadians are not too confident that their GST tax break will make any impact on helping their finances.
Two in three Canadians say the Liberal government’s recent GST or HST tax break on certain items will carry 0 benefits for Canadians and their finances. The survey found that “66 per cent said the GST/HST break would have no impact on their finances” and “30 per cent said the GST/HST break would have a minor positive impact on their finances”.
