Controversy sparked, as former CPC leader Erin O’Toole posted a tweet defending the WEF.
In his tweet, O’Toole made remarks about Canada’s commitments to Ukraine, then took his tweet into a completely different turn by talking about the WEF. In his tweet he says, “I support Ukraine as it is morally right. (Canada) was the first country to recognize (Ukraine). WEF is not a global govt or boogeyman. Attend or not. To suggest it is a secret cabal is proof positive that social media is making public discourse dumber & more divided.”.
The question now remains, will Pierre condemn his pro-WEF tweet? As of now, the CPC has remained silent on the matter. Let’s not forget, Pierre did say he would remove anyone in his caucus that is a supporter of the WEF and/or has attended any meetings. Pierre claims to be anti-WEF, yet says and does nothing when those who are/were in his caucus speak good about them.
Nothing but more words and less action by the CPC. The only thing done by Pierre ever since he became leader of the opposition, was constantly whine and complain about passing a non-confidence motion over and over and over again. It’s a shock to see so called ‘Conservative’ MPs new and old, defend and support such a group as the WEF. It makes us question, what are the real intentions of the CPC and if they really are about the stuff they so claim to be. Pierre’s silence on the issue raises questions about his leadership and consistency in upholding his stated principles. By not addressing O’Toole’s comments, he risks appearing indecisive or insincere, potentially alienating his base who expect a firm stance against the WEF. This lack of response could also lead to internal divisions within the CPC, as members may feel uncertain about the party’s true direction and priorities. Pierre should make a statement clarifying his position and condemning O’Toole’s comments. The statement should also reaffirm his commitment to upholding the party’s values and principles. That is, he should be doing this if he truly does believe the WEF is bad. This is not just some random former MP we are talking about, this is a former leader! Pierre needs to set the record straight and show that he is committed to the party’s values and principles.
