This is what people were fearing. And of course their fears came true! These are Turkish-backed terrorists.
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Hama told local media, “An armed group launched a shooting attack on the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in the city.” The criminals destroyed religious symbols, and disrespected graves. This isn’t the first instance of anti-Christian attacks in Syria after Turkish-backed terrorists took over Syria. Social media reports have even shown vandalism of Christian graves in Mhardeh. The Greek government is (unsurprisingly) silent at the moment about the situation, and no word has been given in regards to the situation. The only political presence on the situation was ‘Greek Solution’ Leader, Kyriakos Velopoulos, who said on X “What are they waiting for?… we haven’t heard (from the prime minister)”.
As of now, we have multiple churches in Syria destroyed, and at least 2 deaths (Samaan Satme & Helena Khashouf). With no sign of political intervention, the situation in Syria remains largely unresolved.
