According to Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc, the Liberals will be adding 324 more “unique makes and models” to the list of Canada’s currently banned firearms.
Ottawa also says they are working with the government of Ukraine in order to have these banned guns sent to Ukraine. The weapons will be sent to Ukraine, in order to defend the Ukrainian people against Russian ‘agression’ says the federal government.
Oh? So the Liberal government just admitted that firearms are/can be used in self defence. Just only Canadians are not allowed to defend themselves. Thank you Liberals!
“Every bit of assistance we can offer to the Ukrainians is one step toward their victory,” Defense Minister Bill Blair said. This policy raises questions about the rights of Canadian citizens to protect themselves and the government’s stance on self-defense. While the initiative supports Ukraine’s defense efforts, it highlights a perceived inconsistency in allowing firearms for defense abroad but restricting them domestically. Why are foreign countries allowed to have guns but Canadians cannot? Not only that, but we are actively giving our guns away to these foreign countries. This raises serious questions about the Canadian government’s commitment to protecting its citizens, and whether it is prioritizing the interests of foreign countries over its own citizens. It also raises questions about the government’s commitment to upholding the constitution and upholding the rights of its citizens. The federal government says it is working with provinces, territories and police on a planned buyback of prohibited weapons from individual owners.
