Greece fails at its ambitions against England today 0-3

Today, Greece hosts England at Athens’ OAKA stadium for a Nations League game that will determine whether it secures the top spot in its group. Greek national team players hoped for a win or a draw to “lock in” the top position and allow them to take on Finland with little pressure in the final.
“The truth is that we had to play a perfect game to beat England and we need to do the same tomorrow. It will be a tough match, more demanding than the previous one,” coach Ivan Jovanovic said.
Greece unfortunately lost its game with England, allowing England to score 3 goals on the Greeks, without any goals in return. The game came as a shock to the Greeks, who previously won their match against England 2-1, at Wembley. Greece had never beaten England before, much less on their home turf in an UEFA Nations League game.
Today’s game saw England score multiple goals, the first being just 10 minutes into the first half. The English were in control of the ball for 56% of the game compared to the Greeks with 44%, but both teams managed to have five shots on target. Greece’s loss today puts them at a crucial point in their group, as they face Finland on November 17th for the finals.
