Teens plotted to bomb Pro-Israel protest at Parliament Hill

RCMP officers arrested two Ottawa teens who plotted to bomb a pro-Israel rally on Parliament Hill. The boys were both minors, and plotted to commit terrorist acts against the Jewish community in Ottawa.
“They are alleged to have formed a plan last fall to violently attack Jewish persons in Ottawa, possibly through the detonation of an explosive device at a pro-Israel rally,” said the department of Justice.
The plot was alleged to be linked to ISIS. “Although radicalization of these individuals reportedly began prior to the October 2023 Hamas attack, at least one of the individuals was reportedly in contact with DAESH (ISIS) overseas and the arrests occurred during a period of DAESH calls to violence in response to the conflict.” said the DOJ.
As Trudeau’s mass immigration policies have taken effect in prior years, terrorist acts have been on the rise in Canada. Some argue that mass immigration strains public resources, including healthcare, education, and housing, leading to societal tensions. Additionally, it can pose challenges to integration and assimilation, potentially resulting in cultural clashes. Critics also suggest that it may increase the risk of individuals with extremist views entering the country, contributing to security concerns. In this case, extremist views were the issue at hand here.
