After Trudeau rejected a proposal from Liberal MPs calling for his resignation, Trudeau now faces more issues. Issues now arise from the Bloc, as the French party calls on Trudeau to meet their demands or face an early election.
“We’re going to continue to have great conversations about what is the best way to take on Pierre Poilievre in the next election — but that’ll happen with me as leader going into the next election,” said Trudeau after rejecting the 24 MPs’ proposal. Some MPs gave up on what they could do further, such as Liberal MP Sean Casey who said “This is a decision that he had every right to make, and he made it. I did my job by voicing what I was hearing from my constituents,”. It is up to Trudeau now to fork up his side of the deal with the Bloc, or face attempts at another early election vote.
