Anti-Greek hate made an idiotic return in Canada

1918, in the city of Toronto during WW1, Canadian veterans and protestors rioted in the streets of the city and destroyed Greek businesses, and ran Greeks out of neighbourhoods.
This was because during WW1, Greece had two sides, the King wanting to stay slightly neutral yet side with Germany, and the Prime Minister wanting to side with the allies. The Canadians stupidly assumed the word of the King was the opinion of the Greeks, and resented the Greeks as traitors. In the end the Greeks sided with the allies, removed the king, and proved the world wrong. Now again, many years later, we see more of this idiotic Greek hate. First we saw it with the immigration crisis, Canadians siding with Turkey, even though it was Turkey who used poor refugees as a political weapon. Now in 2024, during the war in Israel, anti-Greek hate is found.
Video footage shows pro-Palestine supporters heading down to Greek businesses, and tearing down the Greek flags. This is because they assumed the Greek flag, because it shares the same colours as Israel, was that the flag was Israeli. Once again, this shows that idiotic behaviour against Greece is a common scene in Canada.
