PASOK re-elects Nikos Androulakis as the leader of the party

The second round of elections have been completed for the leadership race in PASOK.
Nikos Androulakis has been re-elected with 59.9% of the votes, while his opponent, Harry Doukas gained only 40.1%.
“There are no winners and losers. The winner is PASOK and the Democratic Party. So from tomorrow, united we will take our Movement even higher! Where its history and its contribution deserves,” said Androulakis. Upon his re-election as leader, Androulakis promises to take immediate steps toward change and to reorganize PASOK’s forces, seeking to leverage the momentum and address a broader audience in order to improve the party’s position on the political landscape. Since PASOK is now back as the official opposition in Greece, and SYRIZA took a sharp downward turn in the polls, Androulakis will be using this to help his campaign and promote new policies for his view of a socialist Greece.
