Golden Dawn’s Thermopylae 2024 event

Today marks a sense of remembrance as the Golden Dawn youth front gathers under the monument of King Leonidas to remember the battle of Thermopylae. To remember the battle that, to golden dawners, represents honour and struggle for the Greeks. “Today, the modern Greek Nationalists resist with the same vigor against foreign enemies and domestic traitors who are selling out the Motherland,” writes the Golden Dawn website. Not only were Greek nationalists present at the event, groups such as the Serbian Action Group and Polish National Renaissance took part, honoring the battle with a wreath-laying ceremony.
Hundreds took part in the event while many walked by and stopped and watched in happiness.
Left-leaning officials were also enraged by the fact that Golden Dawn still existed, despite being illegally banned from parliament.
