You read the title right folks! The City of Toronto has just voted to lower the voting age to 16!
This came as a shock to many, as 18 out of the 26 city councillors voted in favour of lowering the voting age from 18 to 16. Who are some of the idiots behind this insane idea? Aleksi Toiviainen of Vote16 Canada and other advocates from the past such as Jaden Braves and Sarah Morra. These are just some of the fools who have pushed for lowering the voting age. Some of the pathetic reasons behind this include “16-17 year olds are just as capable as 18 year olds” and “it’s their future”. Some of the worst arguments, and they seems to have worked on the idiots at city hall. First off, 16 year olds are nowhere near as capable as 18 year olds! You are 16! You cannot drive on your own, you cannot smoke or drink or gamble, consent to sexual activities, own property, or just basic control over your own life! And yet you expect them to vote? And if your only argument is that “it’s their future”, then why can’t 14-year-olds vote, or 13, or 12 or hell, even 9-year-olds? It’s their future too isn’t it? Also, it is not even their future. They do not own property. They live with their parents or guardians! Such stupid claims turn this stupid idea into a law. And we all know the reason why this happened. The next Toronto election is next year, in October 2026! Looks like the Communists want new faces to vote them back in! The votes of our youth will be heavily influenced by teachers who already are manipulated and hellbent on left-wing ideologies.
The amendment was considered on April 23rd and 24th, and videos have surfaced today showing the vote. In the decision titled, “EX22.5 – Amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 190, Polling and Notification including Lowering the Polling Age”, which states a change to “City Council amend Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 190”. 18 members of the city council; Brad Bradford, Alejandra Bravo, Shelley Carroll, Lily Cheng, Rachel Chernos Lin, Olivia Chow, Parthi Kandavel, Ausma Malik, Josh Matlow, Chris Moise, Amber Morley, Jamaal Myers, Frances Nunziata (Chair), James Pasternak, Gord Perks, Anthony Perruzza, Dianne Saxe, and Michael Thompson have all voted in favour. While Jon Burnside, Stephen Holyday, and Nick Mantas voted no, and 5 others didn’t vote. If the leftists can’t import people to vote for them, they will do foolish things such as this. The leftists know they control the schools, and so they use this to their advantage. Our youth continue to become more politicized instead of just enjoying their childhoods! This decision will only further indoctrinate young minds and push them towards a political agenda they may not fully understand. Instead of allowing children to focus on their education and personal growth, the left is exploiting their vulnerability for political gain. This move undermines the integrity of our electoral system and sets a dangerous precedent for the future.
