AEK made their way to the final 4 matchups in the Greek cup, after a stressful victory against PAOK overall in their two matchups.
AEK won their first match against PAOK 1-0, yet struggled in the second match with a tie 1-1. The overall score of 2-1 put AEK in the lead and got them to move onto the next round. The ever so stressful second match went into overtime and even added an extra two halves, forcing players to play roughly for about 120 mins. AEK’s goalkeeper of the match, Alberto Brignoli was definitely a highlight of the match, as he was put to work overtime due to AEK’s weak defence. Brignoli still managed to save all shots by PAOK (with the exception of their 1 goal). PAOK managed to maintain an aggressive attack on AEK, but Brignoli showed that AEK is not playing around, and prevented any chance of a loss for the team. Another notable player was AEK’s Moses Odubajo, who broke the original overall 1-1 tie by scoring the final goal 106 minutes in.
