Why is this terrorist group not banned or designated as such by the Canadian government? While groups like the Proud Boys or the Freedom Convoy are ‘terrorists’, literal Islamist groups are running around poking their heads into our country.
A controversial Canadian Islamic group, Hizb ut Tahrir Canada, called for a return to their annual conference calling for the return of an Islamic caliphate and the imposition of Shariah law. This secret meeting is causing alarm over potential militancy, antisemitism and views on terrorism.
“Hizb ut-Tahrir is an antisemitic organization that actively promotes and encourages terrorism, including praising and celebrating the appalling 7 October attacks,” said U.K. Home Secretary James Cleverly. The group has announced their return to the meetings, with a promotional video stating that “colonialist powers” fear islam, and procides to show videos of Muslims fighting European countries in the past. The group also promotes violence against non-Muslims and blames them for all of the world’s problems. The group also encourages people to convert to Islam and encourages acts of terrorism. They spread their message through social media and other online platforms. This alarming message of the group poses a threat to world peace and must be taken very seriously.
