What better way to start the new year than with another non-confidence motion by the CPC?
The CPC said that once parliament returns after the holidays, they will put forward yet another non-confidence motion against the Liberal government. This motion could be called for a vote as early as January 30th. Conservative MP John Williamson said that his party committee would meet on Jan. 7th to consider a motion of no-confidence in the government. Now that Singh has his pension secured, he is willing to agree to the vote, and support toppling Trudeau. Some still however find Singh to be lying, and that he would vote “nay” in the vote, and wait some time to put forward his own motion, and take credit for toppling Trudeau. This could be a risky move for Singh, as it could be seen as him trying to manipulate the situation for his own gain. On the other hand, he could also risk alienating his own party, which could make it difficult for him to gain support from other parties.
