Sajjan was the only politician who accepted the tickets, and willingness to spend tax dollars on personal non-government duties. Sajjan has been criticized for spending taxpayer money on a personal trip. According to Sajjan’s office, he received clearance from the federal ethics commissioner before accepting the tickets. Thus, Sajjan is doubling down on his waste of taxpayer dollars and not regretting the decision. He could have opted to pay for the tickets out of his own pocket, thereby avoiding the use of taxpayer money for personal entertainment. According to a report in July 2024 by hilltimes, Harjit Sajjan makes almost $300,000 a year! Sajjan’s decision to accept taxpayer-funded tickets to attend an event is unethical and irresponsible. He should have opted to pay his own expenses and not waste taxpayer money. He should be held accountable for his actions.
