Martial’s first debut:
Anthony Martial, AEK’s golden goose from the UK, made his way onto the field today against PAOK. Unfortunately, AEK’s coach Matias Almeyda had the striker benched until the second half (75 minutes in). The game ended in a 1-1 tie, sparking rage among AEK fans in their own stadium. Frantzdy Pierrot scored for AEK, and Abdul Rahman Baba for PAOK.
Aris tops the ranks:
Aris Thessaloniki FC won their derby against Athens Kallithea FC in a 2-0 victory at Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium today. Aris’ scorers were Manu Garcia and Jakub Barbec.
Aris now tops the Superleague leaderboard with 17 points, and knocks PAOK out of 1st place.
PAO makes their way up:
PAO (Panathinaikos) made their way up the ranks, reaching 6th place after their win against OFI Crete. PAO won 1-0 against the Cretans with a 6 minute goal by Tete. PAO maintained a 60% possession lead, yet failed at creating multiple shots on the net. Meanwhile OFI, despite losing, made 17 shots on net to PAO’s 8.
