Budget consultation has begun for the city of Toronto, and Olivia Chow says she is uncertain about just how much property taxes will be increased for the city.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know,” said Chow to reporters.
Previously, Chow increased property taxes by 9.5% once she became mayor, the highest increase since the amalgamation of Toronto in 1998. As she said, “City services matter to people, and they can make life more affordable.” But Chow has done nothing but raise taxes and make life even more expensive. Torontonians are suffering because of high living costs, yet City Hall seems to only be concerned with removing the words ‘male’ and ‘female’ and increasing taxes even further. In the end, all the city can say is that we’ve got “a long way to go”, according to budget chief, Coun. Shelley Carroll.
This is what you voted for Toronto. Why are you crying now? You voted for socialism, well here it is! 🙂
