“When the prime minister talks about a window of opportunity with Turkey for the Exclusive Economic Zone, without declaring an EEZ with Cyprus, and Reuters talks about joint exploitation, without the government denying it, then the betrayal of the Aegean is ante portas. In other words, outside the doors”, said the leader of the ‘Greek Solution’ party, Kyriakos Velopoulos. Velopoulos was speaking about Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his attendance at the UN meetings.
Velopoulos also followed up on his post on X (Twitter) saying “Whoever opens the doors of treason should know one thing: We will cut off his hands and he will go to prison!”.This is a true Greek comment, especially since Erdogan has threatened Greece and has also opened the door to the idea that Turkey is exploiting Greece due to Mitsotakis. Erdogan has made claims that because of Mitsotakis being in office, Turkey will be able to end Greco-Turkish issues. It is not 100% known what the Turkish dictator means by this, but everyone is scared of what Mitsotakis has promised the Turks.
