Once again, as is their signature, the Liberal government will not answer questions.
As usual, the Liberals refuse to specify whether they approved the bonus awarded to CBC CEO Catherine Tait. Liberals cite that under privacy laws, they cannot disclose that kind of information, despite similar information being revealed in the past. CBC’s CEO has a salary range of $468,900 and $551,600 and receives an annual bonus if certain criteria are reached for the year. “Clearly, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government are content to give CBC executives and their handpicked CEO huge multimillion-dollar taxpayer funded bonuses amid dwindling viewership and increasing irrelevancy so long as they remain good servants to their masters and continue to act as the propaganda arm of the Liberal party,” said Heritage critic Rachael Thomas. An enraged parliament is demanding this information be revealed, with CPC and NDP officials seeing themselves on the same side. Conservatives are calling for the information to be revealed while the NDP goes a step further and calls for an end to all bonuses to the CBC.
