According to the RCMP, a father and son have been charged in relation to a foiled terrorist plot in Toronto and the federal government is reviewing their immigration and security screening. Two immigrants to Canada, Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, and Mostafa Eldidi, 26, were planning terrorist acts in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The father was said to be connected to ISIS, and committed crimes outside of Canada in the name of the group. Conservatives, backed by the NDP, called for hearings of the House of Commons Public Safety and National Security Committee in order to explain to the Canadian people just how these criminals entered the country under the Liberals’ watch. “Reports of a terrorist plot in Ontario – thankfully thwarted by the RCMP – have Canadians anxious that a community was narrowly saved from a potentially deadly attack,” said NDP MP Alistair MacGregor.
